For this reason it is essential to have a good filtration equipment. But ... haven't you made up your mind yet? Do you have any doubts regarding which filter is the most suitable for your pool? Nothing happens, here are some tricks so you can choose the best filter for your pool.

WHAT DO WE USE THE POOL FILTER FOR?

In order to obtain a pleasant water for bathing, with a crystalline appearance, it is necessary, in any type of pool, to subject it to a filtration process. The water, being outdoors, is subject to constant contamination. This contamination comes mainly from microorganisms that are in the air itself and those released from bathers. In addition, the increase in temperatures that occur in the summer season, facilitates the formation of lives. Therefore, it is essential to carry out good maintenance and cleaning of the water.

There are different types of filters:

  • Sand filters, the most popular as they require little maintenance and offer good quality;
  • Cartridge filters, with annually replaceable cartridges and ideal for removable pools;
  • Filters diatomaceous, the more expensive option because of its filtration power, containing all kinds of dirt, including microscopic and impossible to capture the human eye.

TYPES OF PURIFICATION FILTER FOR SWIMMING POOLS

SAND FILTERS

They are the most conventional and those that require less maintenance. The water is cleaned by passing through this natural filtering agent. A great advantage that it presents is the durability of the filter as well as allowing backwashing (the reverse process of filtration, cleaning and eliminating impurities from it).

In the market we can find these filters with two types of selector valves: With side valve or with top valve (top). This element allows you to choose the different processes for washing, emptying, recirculating and counter-washing the pool. It is advisable to purchase filters with a side valve, as they are easier to access and install. Filters with the top selector valve are usually used when the space in which the filter is located is limited, as would be the case with buried houses.

CARTRIDGE FILTERS

The system consists of replaceable cartridges that must be cleaned every week and changed approximately a year. The main advantage of the system is easy installation and cleaning. This can be washed with a hose or can be replaced by a cartridge for a cost of about € 10. Its filtration capacity is not as high as in sand filters, but it is sufficient for those small, removable or inflatable pools.

DIATOMACEOUS FILTERS

This type of filter is considered high-end. Diatoms are fossilized microorganisms that act as filtering agents, working as microsponges. With this filter the quality of the water obtained is excellent, containing the smallest particles of dirt. This system has a disadvantage, and that is that its cost is higher than in previous filters. This system also consists of a backwash system, which also facilitates its maintenance.

Its filtering system is quite different from that of sand filters: the water passes through filters loaded with diatoms, whose bodies can be compared to high-efficiency sponges in filtering.

MONOBLOCKS

They are equipment that includes the pump next to the filter, a fact that facilitates the decision when choosing a suitable pump for a filter and vice versa. These kits can be with a sand or cartridge filter. With these, it is only necessary to connect the water inlet and outlet in the filter.
